    Favorite Fall Boots

With my upcoming move to NYC come January, I’ve had my eye on tons of cold-weather essentials including coats, sweaters, and the most exciting of all — boots! If you live in the continental US I know this might not seem all that exciting, but it’s one of the accessories you simply can’t wear in Hawaii without people staring at you like you’re crazy. I’ll be heading to NYC in early November to look for a place and I hear it’s already getting pretty chilly there so I thought now would be the perfect time to pick up a pair or two. Here are some of the boots I’m loving this season.

    Fall Fashion Under 150

Trench: F21 // Dress: F21 // Heels: Charlotte Russe // Earrings: Bauble Bar // Sunnies: ASOS // Bag: F21 (similar here) // Lips: Sephora Marvelous Mauve

One of my favorite trends for Fall (or any time of the year, lets be honest) is monochrome. I just love the clean and sleek look you get when you stick to all one hue. And while I know I’ll wear each of these pieces on repeat this season, I wanted to challenge myself to put together a Fall look that was altogether under $150, accessories included. I can also see myself wearing this trench dressed down with a basic white tee, cutoffs and booties, or over a little black dress on the way to an event. What are you favorite trends for Fall?

Dress: Angel Biba // Bag: Tory Burch // Heels: BCBG (similar here) // Necklace: Bauble Bar (similar here)

Anyone else over the moon that it’s Friday? Tonight we have our Miss Hawaii USA girls’ night out party and then all-day workshops this weekend so I’m pretty excited to get to hang out with all of the contestants. I remember this time last year we went out to PF Changs and it was so awful because I couldn’t eat anything, so I’m SO glad to not be competing this year and I plan to stuff my face accordingly. Last night I wore one of my favorite little black dresses. It’s very simple but I love the length and cut and pairing it with a chunky statement necklace, and best off all the price was right. Hope you all have an amazing weekend.

    Wine Down

Dress: F21 // Clutch: Saint Laurent // Sandals: Zara (sold out, very similar here) // Bracelets: Anthropologie // Earrings: Charming Charlie

Well, it’s official! I think I’ve found my favorite color for the fall season and it’s this one right here (wine, burgundy, maroon, marsala, or whatever else you want to call it). I found this maxi at Forever 21 for a steal and paired it with some knee-high strappy sandals to add some extra pop. This weekend I’m doing a fashion show at Macy’s Ala Moana for its Front Row Fashion Show at 2 p.m. Afterward, there will be free food, manicures by OPI, makeovers by Lancome, and more. Definitely come check it out and say hi if you live in Hawaii! Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for reading.

    Hawaiian Sun

Swimsuit: Inking Tux Australia // Hat: J. Crew (similar here) // Sunnies: Ray Ban

While I’ve been sharing my favorite fall fashion and makeup trends here over the past few days, bikini season never really stops in Hawaii and I’m pretty head over heels for this particular style. I think it would be perfect for a glam  vacation or just day trips to the beach. It’s designed by a brand called Inking Tux based out of Australia, and they ship all over the world. Plus, it comes in lots of bright colors (I have my eyes on the pink for my next beach vacay!). Be sure to check out their Instagram as well for their whole collection.

Holden’s still gone on his massive Eurotrip so I’ve been catching up  on all of my shows including Ladies of London and and The Walking Dead since we decided to watch a set amount of episodes separately so we wouldn’t have to go without watching it. Oh, and is anyone watching The Voice and see Blind Joe’s audition last night? My sister and I were literally crying. XOXO

    Fall Finds

Here’s an outfit I’m absolutely loving for fall! I know I know, I put together another all-black outfit, but I’m loving this look with pops of color in the hat and sunnies. I ordered these Quay Australia sunnies from Urban Outfitters literally yesterday and I just checked back at the site today and they’re sold out…womp womp. But if you love them as much as I do, I saw on Instagram that they’ll be restocked at White Fox boutique, Love Culture and the Quay Australia site in early October. They also have lots of cute colors at the link above. Thanks for reading!

    Fall Fashion

Shirt: (similar here) // Skirt: F21 // Heels: Steve Madden // Clutch: She + Lo

Lately it seems like everywhere I look I see signs of fall — pumpkin spice lattes, fall makeup tutorials, light layers — but here in Hawaii our weather doesn’t ever get cold enough to bundle up. One way I love embracing the fall trends without the warm clothing is just by dressing in fall colors like this maroon skirt and heavier fabrics like this chambray shirt. I definitely plan to throw booties, light scarves and sweaters into the mix too.

This past weekend was Miss Hawaii USA orientation and I got to meet all the contestants and lots of their families too. I have to say, it was SO NICE to be on the other side and not competing this time around. Not being in competition mode means eating yummy food, having a social life, and not having to wear heels if I don’t want to — all things I am no longer willing to give up! Feel free to follow me on snapchat ’emmawo’ for behind the scenes Miss Hawaii USA 2016 video. XOXO

    A Local’s Guide to Hawaii

I know I haven’t posted much this week, it’s been a tough few days for personal reasons, but blogging is my passion and I so appreciate everyone who stops by my blog and continues to give me so much love through social media. Today I thought I would share an article I contributed to on HotelClub.com featuring ‘A Local’s Guide to Hawaii.’ Here are my personal Hawaii favorites on everything from shopping to beaches to restaurants. For a full list of picks, check out the article here.

    EmmaEmma from The Aloha Babe

Emma Wo is the current reigning Miss Hawaii USA who recently placed in the Top 10 at Miss USA 2015 and a former Miss Hawaii Teen USA. She is a fashion blogger and owner of TheAlohaBabe.com and has interned in the fashion closet at Vogue Magazine in New York City. A senior account executive at Bennet Group Public Relations, she represents clients in the areas of travel tourism and real estate.

    1. Where can you find Hawaii’s best shopping?

I always love supporting our local boutiques and you can find tons of great things and pieces by Hawaii-based designers, too. Bamboo Sky, The Butik and Fighting Eel are a few that come to mind.

    2. Where can you find the best beaches in Hawaii?

My favorite beach on Oahu is definitely Lanikai Beach. The water is crystal clear and amazing for snorkeling and kayaking. Two other favorites are Waimea Bay on the North Shore and Cromwells Beach in town — a hidden gem for locals.

    3. What’s the best restaurant in Hawaii at the moment?

For fine dining, Alan Wong’s can’t be beat. They specialize in asian fusion cuisine and I highly recommend the ginger crusted onaga if you’re a fish lover like me. Other hot spots to try are The Pig & the Lady, Lucky Belly and MW Restaurant — don’t leave without trying their desserts!

    4. Where can you find the best nighlife in Hawaii?

If you’re looking for great nightlife, I would recommend heading into Waikiki. The Modern Honolulu hotel has a great bar in the lobby called The Study, and a nightclub called Addiction that are popular on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Rumfire in The Sheraton Waikiki is another fun beachside bar to stop by.

    5. What’s your favourite hotel/resort in Hawaii and why?

I recently stayed at The Modern Honolulu and had a fantastic time. It’s chic and perfect for it you want to stay just outside the hustle and bustle of central Waikiki.

    6. Anything you would like to add?

Whenever anyone is visiting Hawaii for the first time, I always tell them to try authentic Hawaiian food. Some of the absolute best Hawaiian food can be found at Helena’s Hawaiian Food and Ono Hawaiian Foods.

    Have an amazing week…XOXO

    Tied With a Bow

Top: Chicwish // Jeans: Seven for All Mankind // Heels: Sam Edelman (similar here)

I know it’s already Tuesday, but I hope you all had an amazing weekend. I was over on Maui for the weekend attending the Miss Maui USA and Teen USA pageant, and five gorgeous girls were crowned that are now going to compete in the Miss Hawaii USA and Teen USA pageant on November 22. My favorite part about pageants is easily the crowning moment because I just love seeing the girls’ reactions and the pure joy and excitement on their faces. I flew back to Oahu late Sunday night and when I woke up the next morning I was so sick and my throat was so sore it hurt to swallow. Sorry if that’s TMI but eek…it was hard to get out of bed all day! Since I couldn’t shoot any new outfits, here’s one from a while back that I never got a chance to post. Thanks for reading <3
